Terms of Service

Last updated August 11, 2026

These Terms apply to your use of ChatPlotDB during its private beta. By using the Service, you agree to them.

1. Definitions

  • 1.1 Service: the ChatPlotDB product and all its features, provided by Simplifying AI.
  • 1.2 We, us, our: Simplifying AI. You, your: the person or organization using the Service.
  • 1.3 Beta: the early test version of the Service, open to a small invited group.
  • 1.4 Your data: anything you connect, upload, or create using the Service, including databases, files, questions, queries, results, dashboards, and configs.
  • 1.5 AI: software that generates answers on its own, used here to turn your questions into database queries.
  • 1.6 Config: a settings file (in YAML format) that tells the Service what your data means.
  • 1.7 Sub-processor: an outside company that processes your data on our behalf, for example the cloud provider that runs our servers, or the AI provider that processes your questions.

2. The Service, allowed and not-allowed use

  • 2.1 About. You ask questions about your data in plain English, and the Service uses AI to turn them into database queries and show you the answers.
  • 2.2 Who may use it. This beta is open by invitation only, for business or professional use, not for personal or consumer use.
  • 2.3 What you may do. We give you a limited right (a 'licence') to use the Service for your own internal business analysis, on data you own or have permission to use. This right is for you and your organization only, and you cannot sell it or pass it on.
  • 2.4 Your responsibility. You are responsible for everything done under your account, and for keeping your login details safe.

2.5 What you may not do (and must not help anyone else do):

  • use data you do not own or have clear permission to use;
  • resell, rent, share, or pass on the Service or your access, or run it as a service for others;
  • copy or reverse engineer the software or the prompts behind the Service (unless the law gives you that right anyway);
  • use the Service, or what you learn from it, to build or help build a competing product;
  • use robots, scrapers, or scripts to reach the Service outside the normal screens, or to pull out data in bulk;
  • disrupt or overload the Service, or get around any rate, usage, credit, cost, or billing limit, or share one account to avoid limits;
  • try to reach or interfere with any account or data that is not yours;
  • use the Service for anything unlawful, anything that breaks a contract you are under, or anything that harms the rights of others.

3. Ownership

  • 3.1 We own the Service, including all software, AI models, prompts, designs, and brand behind it. Using it gives you no ownership of it.
  • 3.2 You own your data, and the results the Service makes from your data (queries, charts, tables, dashboards, configs).
  • 3.3 If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use your suggestions to improve the Service, with nothing owed to you.

4. Customer data and confidentiality

  • 4.1 Your data is yours. We use it only to run the Service for you.
  • 4.2 To answer your questions, we may send parts of your data to a sub-processor (see 1.7). We name our sub-processors in our Privacy Policy.
  • 4.3 You are responsible for your data being lawful and for having the right to use it.
  • 4.4 Each side must protect the other's non-public information and use it only for this relationship.

5. Warranty and liability

  • 5.1 The Service is provided 'as is' (in its current state, with its faults). During the beta we do not promise it will be available, error-free, accurate, or fit for any particular purpose.
  • 5.2 You use the Service at your own risk and must check results before relying on them.
  • 5.3 As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses (such as lost profits or lost data), and our total liability is capped at the greater of the fees you paid us in the 3 months before a claim, or US$100.

6. Indemnity

  • 6.1 You agree to cover us against claims, losses, and costs that come from your data, your misuse of the Service, or your breaking these Terms.

7. Term and termination

  • 7.1 These Terms apply from your first use until ended.
  • 7.2 You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time.
  • 7.3 We may suspend or end your access at any time, for example if you break these Terms, or to protect the Service or other users, and we may monitor use to enforce them.
  • 7.4 When access ends, your right to use the Service stops, and we may delete your data after 14 days. Keep your own copies of anything important.

8. Miscellaneous

  • 8.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangalore, India, and disputes are handled there.
  • 8.2 We may update these Terms. If a change is important, we will try to let you know, and continued use means you accept the new version.
  • 8.3 If one part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else; we may transfer them within our business.
  • 8.4 We contact you by email; you contact us at support@simplifyingai.com.

9. Fees

  • 9.1 The beta is free for 90 days from when you start.
  • 9.2 After 90 days, continued use needs a paid plan. We will tell you the price and get your agreement before charging you.
  • 9.3 We may set or change pricing for the period after the free beta, but we will never charge you without your agreement.

10. Beta software notice

  • 10.1 The Service is an early beta and may change, break, pause, or lose data at any time, without notice.
  • 10.2 Features may be added, changed, or removed.
  • 10.3 We do not promise the beta will stay available, or that your data will be kept or backed up.

11. AI output may be wrong

  • 11.1 The Service uses AI, and AI can make mistakes. Queries and answers may be wrong, incomplete, or misleading.
  • 11.2 You must check every result before you rely on it or make decisions from it. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on the Service's output. An optional step lets you approve a query before it runs, but this does not remove your responsibility to check.

12. Changing or ending the beta

  • 12.1 We may change, pause, or end the private beta as a whole, at any time, for any reason.
  • 12.2 Because the beta is free, ending it does not entitle you to any refund or compensation.
